L’Interrogant: the most honest expression of Priorat

Freshness and true Priorat character

Perfect harmony between fruit and licorella slate

L’Interrogant by Clos 93 redefines luxury in Priorat through honesty. This blend of Garnacha, Carignan and Cabernet Sauvignon is born in El Lloar to offer a sensory experience designed to be shared around a good grill.

The character of a singular terroir in El Lloar

Barcelona / Editorial Desk, February 6, 2026

L’Interrogant is not only the wine that introduced Clos 93 to the market; it is its clearest statement of intent. Crafted under the prestigious DOQ Priorat, this red wine comes from small vineyard parcels of 25- to 45-year-old vines surrounding the village of El Lloar. Its personality is shaped by a complex terroir dominated by licorella slate and clay soils, which lend an unmistakable mineral identity.

The blend, built around the native Garnacha and Carignan varieties with a touch of Cabernet Sauvignon, is guided by absolute respect for the environment. The result is a wine that moves away from the rigidity of traditional classics to become approachable and generous—ideal for intimate moments or for sharing in good company, without waiting for a formal occasion.

Artisanal winemaking and respect for time

Technical precision defines the 2024 vintage, shaped by minimal intervention and rigorous hand selection of the grapes. Once destemmed, the wine undergoes a long maceration of 25 to 30 days in stainless steel tanks, aiming for optimal extraction of structure and aroma.

Aging is where L’Interrogant refines its character: twelve months in 300-liter French oak barrels, second and third use, allow the aromas to integrate without the wood overshadowing the fruit. Limited to 9,000 bottles, production ensures exclusivity and full traceability in every glass. The process concludes with a quiet period of bottle aging, ensuring the wine reaches the consumer at a moment of remarkable freshness and balance.

Tasting notes: power, freshness and minerality

In the glass, the wine shows an intense, bright ripe cherry color with violet highlights. On the nose, it is a celebration of maturity, where black and red fruit blends with notes of undergrowth, violets and a mineral backdrop of damp earth, subtly accompanied by hints of toffee and toasted wood. The palate is powerful and seductive; tannins are silky, and the well-integrated acidity brings a freshness that invites another sip.

With an alcohol content of 14.5% vol., the finish is long, leaving memories of bitter cocoa and coffee.
For optimal enjoyment, serve between 16 and 18 °C, ideally decanted 30 minutes beforehand.
It pairs beautifully with grilled red meats, game stews and aged sheep’s milk cheeses.
